F18 Leaving Las Vegas

Postby Capt.Propwash » Thu Sep 09, 2010 10:00 pm

Well, the Capt got caught at the craps tables when he should have been doing his sorties, so he decides to book it out of Vegas before he could get locked up.....

hope you enjoy - if you click on the pic, please disreguard the white dots behind/below the F18, they only show up if you click on the pic to enlarge it. I do not know why.

Yes, you do see snow on the mountains around Vegas. Vegas is around 2100 feet ASL, but the mountains are much higher. It gets cold there, too. I remember one morning in late 2006 or early 2007 it was 33.9 degrees about a mile from the Speedway. I was surprised...

one thing that i really love about this pic, besides the color of the mountains, is .. if you look at the light beam coming from the Luxor Hotel, it goes behind the clouds as the clouds are between you and the light beam ... in a way to show 3 dimension.
