Uhhhhhhhhh, nice shots, but, the aircraft are not configured for air-to-air. :D

Since the F-4's were the multi-task workhorse during the Vietnam War they could be configured in many ways.

I could consider these screenshot configurations as a close/long air support mission with required defensive "air-to-air" missiles or it could be a "bait and trap" mission similiar to Operation Bolo. Col. Olds idea for Operation Bolo was relatively simple: substitute Phantoms armed with air-to-air missiles for the bomb-laden F-105 strike aircraft and lure the MiGs into a dogfight. I just havn't dropped the external fuel tanks as Olds did and pursued and killed (2) Mig 21's.
