He's done a huge chunk of Nevada, Utah and Colorado, plus a few other places.  The landscape actually looks better than the one in the screeny.  I was going about 1500 KIAS, so the scenery was lagging a bit. 

The effect is a modified "firework" effect.

The ground is a bit blurry, but in fact this is not distuburbing at all, kind of "focus" effect

Thanks guys!  Too bad Pendercraft no longer seems to be in operation  I would have liked to have seen his completed Spindrift instead of just the FS9 Demo.  But the Pendercraft site seems to be infected by mall-ware, and it's been that way for many months.
