Rain in Cal...

Postby Fozzer » Tue Jan 26, 2010 8:03 am

Connected to FS 2004 Multiplayer, loaded up "Real Weather" for my flight near San Francisco: Forecast low pressure, poor visibility, and occasional rain... ::)...!

Took a flight in my little Cessna 150 Aerobat from Byron > Funny Farm > Rio Vista > Travis AFB > to land at Napa Airfield for Dinner... :)...!

Not exactly ideal conditions for my usual VFR-only flights, but thankfully

You won't be dissapointed by REX, for sure :)
Nice shots, this is my kind of flight, small aircraft, exploration... I just avoid the big flat lands, they can be annoying when flying a small airplane.

The reason why I like daily Simming in California is because there is a surprise around every corner regarding the landscape...

..from the Pacific Ocean, over the low mountains, through the fertile Central Valley, inland lakes and water-ways, Forests and National Parks, above the towering snow-tipped Sierra Nevada Mountains, to the deserts of Nevada down below....enough scenery variation to suit every Simmer!... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

After 10+ years of daily Flight Simming there, (since Flight Unlimited II/III), I know every inch of "Cal".... ;D....!

As Governor Arnie would say;..."Welcome to California!".... :)...!

Ta, Doug...

My little Cessna 150 is the free model; "c150_v2", with one or two of my Panel mods, and Shane's excellent job of painting my Registration Letters on her!... :-*...!

She is a joy to fly, with full instrumentation, and a very speedy 140+ knots on her ASI...!

My favourite little fun tourer!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004....and a little Trainer... :)...!

P.S...note my Avatar on the door pillars!...;)...;)...

Hello Doug...

I have fitted my speedy 150 Aerobat with the larger Roll-Royce O-240A 130HP motor giving her a top speed slightly exceeding 140 knots, foot to the floor, (fuel consumption no object!)...... with our combined "light weight!"...;)... ;D...!

...I am toying with the idea of fitting an exhaust-driven Turbocharger!... :o... :o....!

Also fitted is my favourite (expensive) Bendix-King, full Radio Stack...perfect for Radio Navigation!

A real, all-rounder, Fun Machine!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004.....and California Sunshine (sometimes!)... 8-)...!

Hi Paul... :)

Just did a little research and I see they did make 734 Cessna 150 Aerobats in the United States and they also made a Cessna 152 Aerobat.

[color=#000000]Cool Paul. It's nice to see you posting shots of this type again. I've missed them.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
