Another Piratey Plane

Blohm and Voss BV-138.  Looked strange enough, I could not resist. :)

Hi Boikat...very nice shots... ;)

At first glance I thought it was an American Northrop P-61 Black Widow and then I thought no that was not a flying boat and this one has three engines.   ;D

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I thought the same thing.  I wonder if it has any relation to the Widow.  The resemblance is awfully striking.

Cool shots!

But it sorta looks like the "union" between a P-61 and a PBY....then 'mama' smoked, drank, and took copious amounts of painkillers during the 'pregnancy.

:D :D :D

Thanks guys!

The tail booms do look lika a P-61's, a bit.  But being a seaplane with that third engine, it reminds me more of a Grumman Goose that flew a little to close to Chernobyl.   :o
