Is a canopy a window?

Postby expat » Sun Aug 16, 2009 1:00 pm

Just a casual observation, but this month is titled "Out of Your Window". So my question is, as the thread title says, is a canopy a window?

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Technically from the OED;

Window - noun 1 an opening in a wall or roof, fitted with glass in a frame to let in light or air and allow people to see out.

Does an aircraft have walls and a roof and glass openings.....? Technically probably not.....

Basically....stop being pedantic

well the rules of the competition say

"We want to see a shot looking out the window or door of your aircraft!
Could be from the Flight Deck or from a Passenger Seat,
just make sure your shot focuses on "out the window".
For Example, If taking a shot from the pilot's seat, please make sure the shot is "looking OUT" and not "looking AT" the flight deck itself."

:D so yes can count canopy :P
