The reason the lower portions of the fuselage and cowlings seems brighter in that first shot, is I got lucky and took the capture as lightning struck somewhere behind the camera. As to the paint, I worked on a different scheme off and on for a week and was never happy with it. This one took about three hours before I was satisfied, and was a lot easier.

very very nice!! i especially like the darker paint on the inside parts of the engines and in front of the cockpit (reduces glare i'm assuming?). textures look awesome :) question: what are those black things on top of each engine section right above the wings?
