NWA Flight 74 Featuring Thomas Ruth's great A333!

Postby FlyingPerson » Mon Jun 08, 2009 8:27 am

Only just a FEW problems.. more on that later.

Northwest Flight 74 - Operated by: Airbus Industrie 330-300 - Gate: 74 (I had to XD) - Origin: JFK Destination: MSP

Very wet at JFK today.. the tow truck couldn't help me so I had to use the two P&W4000s to reverse me out.. noisy start of the day.

Image

Powerful takeoff after being the third in line for takeoff after an United B733 and a JetBlue E190.

Image

Cruising comfortably at 32,000 feet. I decided to "sit" in the jumpseat.

Image

Just 45 minutes later, all hell broke loose. I heard the engines quit on me, looked at the engine gauges falling (before they went black) and thought "this is it for this flight.."

Image

Gliding into the skies. Looking nicer a few miles longer.

Image

After gliding for quite a while, I emergency landed at KBFD (I think that's what it was called). The speedbrakes and the emergency brakes stopped the aircraft with violent shaking and making quite a few tires blow.

Image

My next flight will be non-failured.. I feel like doing a 757 flight :P Stay tuned!

You managed to glide down to a nearby airport ? Great move !
Strange thing in your failure screenshot is that the airspeed is at 0.... Normally this gauge doesn't need any power to work, isn't it ? I wonder if you were not victim of the icing ?

Daube, it's a faulty gauge. It never works. This is very much like the default A321 VC (only less detail). I think it works in the default A321, but I have no idea why it doesen't work in this one. :/

Thanks to both of you for the comments! :D

(You can see it in #3 too.. I was flying at Mach 0.76 but it still showed 0 :/)
