just a bunch of screenies involving some awsome aircraft in my opinion!

this post - props! (all aircraft can be found here i think?!)


ok so first up we have the howard 500 hiding in front of the sun...





next we have the prototype Avro lancastrian, a smoother version of the famous WWII bomber

but just googling it i didnt realise it was a post war civilian aircraft. some more info...

"AVRO 691 LANCASTRIAN - Following development of the Lancaster XPP for TCA, six more Lancaster Mk Xs were more extensively converted with elon-gated nose and tail cones, 3'/2-ton (3 560-kg) mail capacity, windows in the rear fuse-lage and ten passenger seats. Operated by TCA on North Atlantic route, 1944/45, and known as Lancastrians.
Avro Lancastrian C Mk I: Basic Lancaster I airframe adapted for transport duties to Specification 16/44, similar to Victory Aircraft conversion in Canada. Nine passen-gers, plus freight and mail. 1,635 hp Merlin T.24/2 engines. Twenty-three built, 1944/45, on RAF contract and transferred to BOAC for operation on UK-Australia route, commencing May 31, 1945. Subsequent marks built post-war.

Max speed, 310 mph (499 km/h). Cruising speed, 230 mph (370 km/h). Range, 4,150 mis (6,677 km). Gross weight, 65,000 Ib (29,510 kg). Span, 102 ft 0 in (31.09 m). Length, 76 ft 10 in (23.43m)."
