A 747

Postby Brando14100 » Sun Jan 18, 2009 1:06 pm

Here's one from yesterday. I was going to fly the default FSX 747 (with an addon paint, don't remember where it's from) from LA to NYC, in the process trying out my rudder pedals. I though I finally had them configured right, but I found out I have to try again because they still control throttle, elevator, and eveything else too. So here's the one shot that I did get:

Comments welcome.

Nah Chris, I prefer 757 to 777 family myself. 707 is nice, though it's got that "very old" look, the 717 is lovable, so is the 727, the 737 is used waaay too much to be liked that much, and the 747 looks good too, actually.. especially when comparing it to the A380, Beluga or Dreamlifter.. those are :-[

Wonderful shot, B-Valvs!

Hmm .. I am very sure that you can do much, much better Brandon! In fact, I've seen you do much, much better ...

The aircraft has an amputated wing and there's nothing going on in the shot other than a parked 747. No clouds, no AI, no ground vehicles, no perspective and the scenery has those horrible default textures ...

Look, I know it's not the most exciting or even the best shot I've taken, but I still thought it was worth posting. I thought the lighting was interesting, and I know I accidentally clipped part of the wing, but I didn't think the in this shot it was that bad. Thank you for the advice again though. One thing I really like about your comments is the honesty.

I still thought it was worth posting.

Then I won't argue with you about that ;)

Thank you for the advice again though. One thing I really like about your comments is the honesty.

That is why I post comments like I do. What's the use of a comment like 'nice shot' if you don't mean it? Or maybe the commenter is ill sighted? Be critical and honest!

My avatar payoff is 'Knowledge is Power' (which happens to be a coincidental interpretation of the letters of my last name) but I also strongly believe that 'Knowledge is worthless if you don't share it'. In other words: if you keep your knowledge to yourself, others won't learn anything from you. And passing on to others what you have learned yourself, is exactly what is - according to me - one of the true meanings of life.

Well ... besides reproduction of course. Which is also a lot more fun ;D

I agree with you 100%. I always try to share what I know, but most people I know find it very annoying.  ;D ;D Either that or they get tired of my scientist-historian type talking and ignore me. Oh well, their loss.  ;)

I like it. Default and all. It's not fancy with the clouds because it's A 747. It's Simple. One of the MOST important factors in composition. The only con about this shot is the tail number. That horrible sore thumb they put on the side of the default planes that just kills it.
