My old stompin grounds

Postby BigTruck » Sun Dec 21, 2008 5:46 am

Figured I'd fire up FSX for a change and take the ole Sabre for spin around my old stompin grounds in Hawaii.

I hope you do! These are probably the best first FSX shots I've seen! :o Let me know when you make the full transistion from FS9 though, that way we can have a moment of silence for another pilot lost to FSX. ;D ;)

;)  It's going to be a while before I do the full conversion...got too much money invested in FS9 with all my payware...but as far as freeware shooting goes, I think FSX will do just great, goes to show you don't need a top end system and tons of payware to make a few decent shots.

Thanks for the complements too!!!

Ouch ! Impressive shots indeed ! :o
I don't fly this bird often enough. It sure is a cool freeware plane, isn't it ? :)

How functional is the VC in FSX/SP2?

Seems to work quite well.
It had a problem with the radio that wouldn't show but there's been a fix for that already.
Else, I have not read the manual yet, so I haven't tested all the functionnalities.

I downloaded it to see for myself and the VC canopy isn't transparent, there are texture issues on the aircraft itself, and not enough working gauges in the VC.

Pity... :-/

Im not sure exactly what files, but you can fix the canopy glass in the same manner as the F-16. But.... if you'd like to wait... there is an FSX version in the making!

About the shots, they look great! Thats the Blue Sky scenery. Very nice looking. Plus, the excellent Sabre. I have both!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Very nice shots.  The Sabre is one of my favorite early jet fighters and the scenery is cool too.

There's a readme that [glow=yellow,2,300]MUST[/glow] be read for the installation instructions.
Also, I suppose you haven't downloaded the FSX update ?

I just downloaded the plane from SimV and installed it, haven't had any issues with the canopy in the VC, however you are right about the gauges, which is fine by me for a bird like like this since I would only use it to show off, not actually do any navigating or anything like that.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!!  I think I found a new hobby  ;D
