Saab 340 by Alrot and Brett, cold test flight !

Postby Daube » Sun Dec 14, 2008 6:08 am

Hi all,

I made my first quick flight in the new Saab 340 that Alrot has annouced in the FSX forum. So far, I love it, but I have some remarks:
- the landing lights are missing, from VC as well as in outside view.
- the VC would need some trim control (or is it there and I didn't see it ?)
- the shape of the plane right above the fron windows is a bit strange (look on shot #1 and #2). Is it like this in real life too ?
- it is hard to loose speed in air. There are no airbrakes, and the reverse just increases the speed, just like any other turboprops in FSX... I suppose it's a FSX bug.

Now to the shots. This bird has deserved a nice place in my hangar

I notice late yesterday the landing/ taxi light issues but this is something Brett Must see and easy to fix ..

the Shots are great Daube ,and thanks for head up. :)

Something important people Must Know

This is Not Brett/Alrot creation ,this plane was made 99.999% By Brett Henderson ,so my point is I wont accept credits on something I didn't do,I just help him finish with 3 or 4 small details, I'm proud to be his friend, I'm proud for his skills ..

I just hope this wont cause a misunderstanding, The plane its awesome (Have you seen the main door Animation?) I had this plane in my hands and also I didn't notice the landing taxi lights too, If I were made this plane the same issue would happen to me too..

That might be true.. but every time we work on a model together, it ends up much better.. no matter who did what.  :)

I'm proud to have your name on it too..  8-)

PR = Public Relations

(it's a fancy title for people who make things look better than they really are)

after messing with the textures to make it SP1 compatible because of my graphics card I got to fly it, I liked the VC detail (even though part of it was transparent so i still have to fix that!) It handles extremly well and i love the interior part.... The only thing I dont think I can fix for SP1 is the prop though seeing as how the spinner is transparent

Brett we need to gelp these people all these shots are nowhere near Michigan (yall can fly were ever you want of course ::)) you want cold fly KDTW to KPLN or KSAW or KCIU or KMSP

I realize none of them are real good because MS kinda skipped Michigan
What do I do you ask? I struggle! Then destroy! Then try to put back together what I just broke on accident.....

All my test flying was real routes  :)

The short hops were KESC to KMNT and back.. (KESC is where I saw one up close last summer, while fueling my Warrior and decided I HAD to have one for FSX)..

For getting it up to altitude and testing fuel burns.. it was KDTW to KMSP..

And MANY flights twixt KSAW and KMSP..
