Tooting my own horn

Postby ShaneG_old » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:23 am

I normally try not to do such a thing, but this time, I think I can allow it. ;)  A couple of weeks ago, Bvalvs asked for a repaint to be done and I accepted. Never having done one before to this degree, I had hoped that it would be an ok job. When I contacted Premier Aircraft Designs to get permission to upload the paint here, this was their response:

"Hello Shane,

That's the best repaint of our CL-604 that I have seen, maybe the reflections are a tad overdone but overall excellent. Yes, post on Simviation by all means if you wish. We prefer it to be a texture set with instructions for newbies on how to add it to the file set.  Alternatively, you could send me a zip file of the textures and I'll post it on PAD web site as a complete model set and also send it on to the the three major flight sim sites ( flightsim, avsim and simviation) with your name as the repainter....your call."

Regards, Bob May

As you can imagine this has me tickled beyond belief and I will be letting them do as they suggested and upload it to the three sites.
So here are a few shots of the bird, and much thanks to Bvalvs for turning me on to such a beautiful and detailed aircraft.

Thanks for looking, and watch the download sections for this one, it's worth the download. ;)

Dude, that looks sweet! I'll definitely be looking for it!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Say, you are becoming a man of many talents there Shane. Looks pretty nice. I'll know who to ask if I would like a repaint one of these days.

Looks great. Thanks again. I thought of something you could do to make it look even better, if you're willing to change something last minute. It's nothing big. I show you in a little while and you can decide. I'm on the wrong computer right now. It doesn't have my pictures on it.

Right computer now. Here's what I mean. It's the stairs, if you can even paint them:

Sorry this is so last minute. I never noticed it on the paint before. Don't worry about it if you've already uploaded it.

I wish I could have. The texture that does the door frame is the same one for the stairs. I wondered about that myself. ;)

Oh well, it still looks great. I guess you can't expect every detail.

I'm really hoping they leave that in when they upload it. Hopefully it will be up tomorrow. I imagine it will go up on thier site first and then come to here and the others. They were pretty quick on responding to me. :)

EDIT: It's now up at PAD!!!!! ;D

:'( They didn't keep the yoke, so if you want that, I'll send it to you. ;)
It's still pretty cool though! ;D

EDIT (again) They also made a FS9 version!! That's cool! ;D
