Dutch Dornier

Hi All,

The guys at Premier Aircraft Design have released a very nice Dornier 228 in the colors of the Dutch Coast Guard.
I took her up for a spin from NAS Valkenburg along the Dutch coast and below are some impressions ...

The scenery is NL2000 V3 and the skies are by FS Sky World

The more I look at these the more I'm glad I fired my FS9 back up! Very real. 8-)
Question: The process of installing this scenery sound pretty complex according to the directions on the site, Is this a fairly straightforward process or very easy to screw it all up? It's the first time a freeware scenery has required me to burn to a disc to install. And also, is the disc required to be in the drive to use, or only required for the install?
Eventually I'm just gonna bite the bullet and do it, I'm just looking for a little heads up preperation before diving into this one.

Yeah, I know what you mean! No FSX for me ... but that's more because of my underpowered hardware than my reluctance to use FSX.

The installation of NL2000 V3 is rather straight forward, Shane. It just takes an eternity to install that 21 GB of scenery! There's a feature panel with that scenery that will let you switch on (or off) any features. Basically something like the Configuration Panel of the Glacier Bay scenery by Holger Sandmann.

But you don't need the discs to run the scenery. If you need any help just let me know

Which is the best way to go?

Download Instructions

We offer two different download methods to download NL2000 version 3.0:

Via the BitTorrent network. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P) communications protocol. BitTorrent is a method of distributing large amounts of data. For more information about BitTorrent see Wikipedia.
Via normal HTTP download as .iso files. An ISO image should be burned to a DVD by using a special option in your burning software. Please refer to the manual of your burning software on how to write these ISO images to a DVD.

The total download size of NL2000 version 3.0 is 21 GB!

Choose one of the above download methods to download NL2000 version 3.0.

Blooming awesome! Im afraid i dont have 21 gig of free space on my two hard drives without deleting some serious stuff or id be downloading this right now!

That torrent buisness is something I don't trust  :-/. To much association with pirates and such, and the idea of my baby being hooked up to someone elses system for file transfer who I don't know or trust just makes my spidey sense go wild.
 Think I'm gonna feel safer with the disc burning procedure, that way if I have to ever reinstall, I wouldn't have to p2p again!
