nice idea, but to be honest, it seems to me that whenever people try to use a livery that is based off any nation's flag in one of these contests, it always seems to me like they are trying to exploit patriotism, rather than actually doing something decent. This is the kind of stuff that gets me angry because it just seems to me like someone is just trying to play on the judges patriotism, and not actually trying to actually win it without it being an attempt at using our country's flag for personal gain.

Well anyway nice try...Im not a big fan of how the flag on the 737 does not line up, but funny none the less :) Good use of Recorder for the aircraft! Head on over to the studio for more info on improving your screenies

this competition alone, i have seen people entering in simviation liveries, a couple of these, you get the idea.... it gets to the point at which i have just become to the point at which when i see something like this it makes me wonder if they are in fact trying to play at the judges sense of patriotism or the fact that some are using simv liveries, personally, i doubt i would think this if i hadn't already seen 2 entries with simv liveries..... but now when i see an entry which has a Boeing with a livery that's completely an American flag, and then 4 Cessnas which are also completely American flags, that is when i start to get concerned. if it had just been the Boeing with the American flag, no problem, but when i see 5 separate aircraft with liveries that are all the American flag, that screams to me that someone is trying to game the judges sense of patriotism...

right now I'm not putting anything past anyone right now, because i have seen enough of this crap trying to play people, i can understand if one of the aircraft, maybe even 2 is an American flag livery, but when all 5 aircraft in the pic have that kind of livery, it makes me wonder...

also just so you know, I wouldn't even raise any questions about this had this been in the studio 5 competition, but the problem is that studio 5 is just for fun, where here you are actually trying to win something, and that to me seems as if you are trying to do it for personal gain, and if you want me to start thinking otherwise, then i would recommend trying to enter something like this in the studio 5 contest once in a while, just to show that you aren't just in it for the payware....

finally, if you want to know why i read in to things so much, it's because after all the crap I've seen happen lately, I've gotten really suspicious of everyone pretty much. With all the crap I'm seeing in this presidential election, it looks to me as if i can't trust anyone to not have ulterior motives.

Honestly your getting too worked up about it, personally flight simming is a hobby and I try not to take it too seriously. Instead I come here to do something I enjoy.

Maybe he ,or an unlikely she, is very patriotic and wanted to compose a shot that showed this. When you rattle off like that you make the V a little less friendly ;) and potentially scare off people. I don't like that because I wouldn't participate here if individuals decided to open up a can of crazy on me often.

And if people are kissing up too the judges well who cares? Does it matter?

Competition is very tough but it doesn't have to be cut throat, and the judges here do a good job of picking the best shots. ;)

look i'm sorry if i'm on a bit of an edge, i'm just very angry about what happened yesterday, and today, let's just say that a game i've been waiting for months that i preordered, the preorder got canceled because the freaking credit card company can't get their servers right, and when i contacted them about it, they wanted 15 bucks to replace a card that was defective because of their screw up.... plus they locked up my funds for 7 days because the transaction didn't go through, all because of a server error that they refuse to fix, and lately because of this i have been on edge about everything, because it wouldn't be so bad if the damn publisher of that game hadn't forgotten to put the cd keys in the north american version of the game, which resulted in a total recall of the game and a 10 day push back on it.... that's what got me up there, just here i snapped because of everything piling up on top of each other, and for that i'm sorry, it's just that to be honest, the combo of that screwup with that game and that card, combined with the fact that it seems like everyone is trying to submit things that seem to me as if they are actually trying to play on peoples feelings, well that's just a bad mix right there.......

American flag paint aside (some will like it and others won't), this is a decent shot, but there is room for improvement in future screenshots. The angle is very interesting, but it would have been better if you were able to keep the nose of the 737 in the picture.

Sorry that you have had a bad day but come on, dont take it out on me. I am fairly new at this and this is the first time I have entered and probably the last. The theme is colorful liveries. Although I do consider myself very patriotc I was just looking for a texture that had not already been used. I had already downloaded the 737 skin and was looking for another to use instead when I saw the 172 and got the idea. In no way did I think that I had a chance to win this or gain anything!!! Have you seen some of the pics posted? I really just started taking pics and posting them and am just trying to improve and thoroughly enjoy it, or at least I use to.

i know i overreacted quite a bit and i'm sorry for that, it's just that sometimes, i just snap, nuff said, it has gotten me in to a lot of trouble before, and it probably will again... i just can try and prevent it from getting as bad as it possibly can do, anyhow, it is a nice shot, it's just that to be honest, it could use a little more variety....

No hard feelings, I am new at this and just figured I would get more constructive criticism if I posted in the contest. Don't know if you have noticed or not but I have posted alot lately in the freeware forum. I would like to get to the point where people see my posts and open them with anticipation, like I do other members here. Not as I'm sure some think now, oh no another post from TRflyman.
