Advanced Carrier Oporations Pt1.

Postby Flying Mouse » Thu Jul 03, 2008 2:44 am

I attended a seminar In Durban South Africa the previous evening presenting "The life of a fighter pilot on a carrier ship". Slept over and got ready to depart the next morning from Durban Int. FADN.

After takeoff I headed North East for about 60nm when I established contact with my group. Setting up the approach.

Cleared to land, called the ball and got a word from flight deck about my high final. Easy for them to talk.
Image

Touch down at 350f/t p/m decent at 128 knots, full flaps down, spoiler out and the tail hook ready for cable nr. 2.

Part 2 to be continued.....

Thanx for looking and Q&C welcome

Nice-looking touchdown, but I wonder if you could stop safely ?
I like the shot #2 as well, nice colors.

I gotta ask how you get those lights on the ball, and on other stuff in general.

All my light is hideous...

Yes I do stop safely. The cables does work and slows the jet down rather fast. What I do not like is due to the slow down force of the cables it often looks like the nose wheel sinks into the ship with a few inches.

I downloaded a carrier pack, in the misc. section if I don't have it wrong. I can call up ship formations anywhere any time. Nice Add-on.
