Right off the Assembly Line

Postby AMDDDA » Sat May 17, 2008 5:18 pm

"WHEW, finally, we can go back to Houston, I am sooo tired." Said the first man, a pilot in his young to mid 30's, obviously bored. "Well, it isn't all bad, I mean, Seattle at night is an amazing sight, trust me, man." The other man that was with him said.

And so the two pilots went to the Continental Airlines hub in Houston, Texas, with their brand spanking new 757-200, well, not theirs, but their airlines. However, they have a long night ahead of them with the temperature at 15 degrees outside and no other company. I'm sure they're just dying to go see their wives, too.
That's the story of the screen, now let's see the one about it.

This is a screen that I chose to be my entry this month, and it looks good to me, as I threw away the integrated graphics today and got a new 7300 GS (not the best, but I LOVE it).

Image

The plane is the POSKY 757 Continental, and the scenery is just default with Real Environment Professional.

C&C please. And good luck to all others.

I was originally going to get a SS of a NW 757 going into the Pentagon, but I felt very bad before I was going to take the shot, so I didn't.

Also, if you haven't noticed, this is the Boeing factory in Washington, just a few miles away from Sea-Tac and downtown Seattle.

Yeah the 757 into the pentagon would of been in poor taste, maybe something you shouldn't mention ;D  :P :P

.....Slowly walks away and gives the Department of Homeland Security a ring......

Just kidding a pretty cool shot , some better lighting and less compression would help overall.

Maybe a dawn or dusk shot and look into infraview for better compression.

Best,
John

The size for the screen is 144.5 KB ;X.

I don't think it would work with less compression.

And don't worry about Homeland Security, they're probably working on the war on terra.

OK but the quality of the shot is really, really suffering maybe play with the settings on whatever program you are using to resize the image. A more crisp shot enhances the overall look.

Nice shot there! I like this one. I also like the story ... very nice touch. John is right about the compression, but that's just a minor detail.

But I think I'd like the shot a little better if the camera would be lower. The aircraft is in front of the building and by lowering the camera would get the aircraft 'higher' in the sky.

BTW: You might want to check your spelling and writing style ...

Sorry, I just whipped that up in a minute or two, and thanks for your suggestion =).

I'll try to take the picture at a lower resolution so that I can get a higher quality image.

I don't think that is how you end up in the finals ... let alone winning the contest. Only enter your very best screenshot.
Don't enter a mediocre shot just for the sake of being there!

thanks for your suggestion

You're very welcome! I know I can sound harsh sometimes but forgive me ... I'm Dutch; it's what we're like ;D But I do mean good ;)

I'll try to take the picture at a lower resolution so that I can get a higher quality image.

That's not the solution ... you should learn how to take full size screenshots and still create stunning images.
You can post images that are 1024x768 which are still of great quality. Though I usually post 800 wide as I'm on a 1280x1024 19" screen.

It's about balancing your machine. Read this

Good luck ;)
