Super Bug!

Flew a mission into Iraq with the F/A-18F. Half tanker, half strike loadout. Took off from a carrier in the gulf. Heres some of the screenshots I liked the most. C&C always welcomed!

I respect your opinion but i have to disagree. I know its a very capable aircraft but it just doesnt 'do it' for me. Its probably the one aircraft ive never had and will never have in my 'hangar'!

Im just a stickler for an aircraft of this type 'looking' like it means buisness, and ive always felt the hornet in its various guises and complete '60 minute makeover' super hornet variant

I agree with ya 'horse. The F-18 isnt my favorite aircraft, tho this opne does look good in FSX. The Super Hornet is a bit closer looking to what it replaced. The F-14 is definitely one of, if the the best planes the US Military has ever flown. Its big, fast, and not something an enemy wants to see. Quite agile for its size as well. A Tomcat with 6 Phoenix missles means serious business. Not to be forgotten was the modified Tomcat known as the "Bombcat". I guess you can see what my #1 plane is! Besides, living by Miramar, I saw them allll the time!

Indeed!  BTW Im certainly not saying the shots are no good because of the F-18, far from it!!!

Despite myself having lived close to RAF Conningsby and worked in the area of RAF Waddington, plus im old enough to have seen lightnings when they were active at Binbrook (now theres an aircraft and i was pretty young!) id give my right arm to have lived near Miramar in the tomcat days!!

Ive seen F-1-11's, F-15's, phantoms and all manner of stuff like it but ive never seen a F-14 'live'. I can only imagine what it must have been like... :'(

Great shots. The F-18 isn't my favorite aircraft, but I do like it.

I was at Space Camp in Huntsville one year, and two F-14 flew over at about 150 feet over my head at close to 600 mph. I managed to hear it it time to cover my ears (they were coming from behind me), but my camp mates weren't so lucky. It sure does displace a lot of air!

I tell ya, seeing and hearing a jet with nearly 60,000lbs of thrust was just fantastic. Now where I lived, when a carrier would come home, we'd get the entire fleet flying in formation over my house. Now that was a sight!

The Tomcat is just the best. Hornet will never, ever replace it. Like a patch I saw says... "Hornets by mandate, Tomcats by choice"

BTW, if you wanna hear a Tomcat, go here...

Lol ive been through youtubes collection of tomcat related stuff quite a few times. One of my favorites is the budwieser 'WASSSSUPP' one that appears to have been done by the navy crews themselves.

Great stuff :)

Yup, that is a funny one! Love the part where they are mid-air refueling and the guy has a Playstation controller (as if he is playing a game)!

Its FSX, and can be found here;
http://www.simviation.com/fsxmilitary22.htm

It comes with I think 3 or 4 different weapon loadouts. From a clean loadout, to fully armed.
