You should installa freeware pack nammed FS SkyWorld 2004 (can be found at avsim. It will provide you a lot of aternative cloud textures, as well as sky colors. Warning, for FS9 only.

Nice shots ... I like the second a lot. Very classic angle. Apart from Daube's comment on the clouds you might want to look in your aircraft.cfg if you can fix the effect for the navlight. It looks like you have two different textures assigned to it. The left one looks like one of Nick's textures and the right one looks default ...
Just a thought though
