Barajas to Heathrow!

Postby Reno » Tue Jan 22, 2008 6:29 pm

Barajas (Madrid) to Heathrow (London) all the way!

Parked at Barajas alongside a few other Iberia jets.

After suffering engine problems in my first A-321, then nav system problems in my second A-320, finally my passengers are transfered over to a plane that works, another Iberia jet, the A-300.

Heathrow tower put me into a holding pattern! Looks foul down there!

After more than TWO hours of holding, I FINALLY get to see the airport (BARELY though! Really damn foggy!)

Enjoy!
Cheers
Reno!

The original flight plan stated 1:34. So it was around 5, 6 hours if you include having to switch planes at Barajas. I usually do flights across the Pacific, or Atlantic. 18 hours, fun. Set it going, go to bed, wake up, check on it, go to school, come home and check, goto bed, wake up and land it! Lulz!

The only two flights (in real life at least) that last over 18 hours are Singapore Airlines flight 21 from Singapore to Newark on the A340-500 and its reverse flight 22 from Newark to Singapore...My favorite route is flying from Dubai to JFK on board the A340-500 in the wonderful Emirates livery... 8-)

What are your favorite routes? :P

Fantastic shots Reno...I for one would've hated flying on the loud and noisy A300... :D

I love that bird, lol.

The flight I went on from CYVR (Vancouver) to VHHH (Hong Kong) on a Cathay Pacific 744 lasted about 18 and a half hours flight time. But I must say my favourite route is probably CYVR - CYYZ (Toronto) - BIKF (Kelflavik
Long live the 744 Landor livery!

Nice shots!
Quick question, did you just put the holding pattern thing into the "storyline" or did you actually simulate that?
How would you simulate that in the flight simulator?
Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, I normally just fly via VOR or via airways, if AI traffic gets in my way I turn it off!

I have a special AFCAD I had made by a friend for me for Heathrow that automatically has the tower put you in a holding pattern if there's too much traffic, if you're AI or not, also if you're following the guy in front of you too closely, which really cuts down on go arounds. I'll try and find the file cause it's really cool.

Cool... no idea AFCADs could do that... I suppose they would have to be manually made for each airport you want a holding pattern at?
3 go-arounds in a row can get a bit annoying... ::)

Cheers Reno, I'll have a play around with AFCAD in a bit.
