My first 'decent' repaint....

Postby cspyro21 » Sun Nov 06, 2005 1:39 pm

Hey all,
Today, following Icelandexpress' repaint thread, I too decided to repaint a Cessna 172. I used MSPaint, and, to be honest, that was awful, the texture was blurry. So I downloaded Pixia, and this is the result:

Image
Lol, colourful isn't it!

Image
It reminds me of a 1920's crazy barnstormer repaint (where is Ozzy when we need him? ;D)

Image

So then, I am very pleased with it. What do you guys think?
Cheers,
cspyro21  ;)

Nice repaint. I see you like blue and green...
Did you use layers this time? If you did try changing the blending from normal to multiply, overlay or even hard light or things like that and play around with the opacity a bit. Then it will look like it's actually paint on the plane's platings.

Happy painting!

Thanks for your comments!!

Theis, TSC and KB, do you think its worth uploading or no?

Pigeon, no, I didn't use layers, however I will be trying that very soon.

Iceland, get it here:

Fozzer, don't worry, I found it difficult at first, but with a bit of practice, we can get yu painting in a jiffy. At least you do good food!

Cheers ;)

Hey Joker_Flyer do you think it's worht uploading? I mean, I'm thinking that people will take it for a flight once or twice and then abandon it because it is colourful but, in my eyes, it is quite a dull repaint. I'll repaint a 182 and upload that soon, that'll be a nice repaint.
Cheers ;)

Nice! I really like that shade of blue.

Glad to see somebody has figured out Pixia. I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago but have yet to figure it out.
