There are lot's of engines for a 727.

super727 = engines like a MD80. Thrust reversers work like the Citation engines.
(Captain Sim uses this enigines:

Photo:

The normal 727 engines don't move at thrust reverser I think,

I'm unsure which extend to the back.

There are also engines fittet for Stage 4 noise requirements that look like a big tube coming out of the engines.

Lots of photos of the 727 engines can be found here:
http://members.tripod.com/~aravm98/refe ... gindex.htm

Otherwise I could do a search on airliners.net....,

Hope that helped a bit, you could look at the Vistaliners model.
There has been an unofficial release with different engines.
(HGW, Super727, F, OE27, FEDEx and Advance model)

But the best thing would be to look for pics, I'll do a search.
Nice paint BTW!
What will you do? Looking forward to this one.
Could you add 2 winglets on a model?
Freighter model?

Cheers,
Fabian

Your animation wasn't wrong, I guess you modelled the Advanced JT3D-7 by mistake.

The link you posted is the super 727 (reversers like 737-200, MD-8X)

If you go to the mainpage there are many infos on the different models:
http://members.tripod.com/~aravm98/refe ... Dindex.htm
Also great detail on different parts can be seen (gear, wings,....)
Glad I could help,

Cheers,
Fabian

P.S.: Winglet pic:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Boeing_727-LAB.jpg
It's more like a 747-400 / A330 / A340 winglet, not ike the curved ones made by Boeing normally.

I flew on a NW 727-200 before...but couldn't tell you what the reverser's did...actually that was before they really seemed to use them much.  Most of my flights back then we hit the ground, spoilers up and coasted to a taxi speed :-/

Watching a couple landing videos on http://www.flightlevel350.com/advanced_search.php it almost appears as some engine models nothing noticeable moves with the reverse :-?

Internal cascade (no stuff visible) vs clamshell (with the big doors)

Some cascade reversers do have visible doors on the inside of the engine (Tu-134A-3)
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

The detail and color of the tail is great. Keep up the good work. ;)

Did you see, that in your 1st 2 links the planes are on the taxiway? So no reverser deployed. I think that's the noise reduction kit I was taking about. But I'm unsure about this, too.

I think Ivan is right.
Internal cascade (no stuff visible) vs clamshell (with the big doors)

- The internal cascades don't move OR extend to the rear (JT3D-7 aftermarket engine), but I'm unsure.
- The Clamshells open like your Citation

Engine types for the 727-200:

64.5kN (14,500lb) Pratt & Whitney JT8D-9 turbofans,
67.2kN (15,000lb) JT8D-11s,
68.9kN (15,500lb) JT8D-15s
71.1kN (16,000lb) JT8D-17s (Advanced only),
77.3kN (17,400lb) JT8D-17Rs (Advanced only).

And I've left out the aftermarket modifications....
So you've got 5 to choose.

Cheers,
Fabian
