More fun in the DPRK

Postby Lazerbeak » Sun Dec 30, 2007 2:54 am

Still poking about in Kimland. ;D

Keeping the glorious and mighty Korea safe from the evil venom of capitalist swine such as the USA and its favourite puppet, South Korea is serious business. So all-powerful Korea is using these MD500's to defend the Juche ideology and its brave leader. No longer will these American-made machines defend an evil airspace, now they work for true justice!

From ZKPY, the redeemed helo takes off for its patrol over beautiful Pyongyang.

What's that? Someone has forgotten to bow before a statue of the Dear Leader! Mr. Baek, ready the Type 88's please.

The paint in these shots is semi-fictional, based on how DPRK helos of the type are typically painted. I say semi-fictional because North Korea actually does have quite a sizeable fleet of military-spec MD500's. Considering the NKAF's inventory consists mainly of obsolete Soviet/Chinese A/C, (and their hatred of anything American) I found this very interesting, and couldn't resist painting one up with which to tool around in Pyongyang. All I need now is some good scenery for the city.

Of course, comments (on both shots and paint) are very much appreciated and encouraged.

Cool shots, I love how the background is fading away in the last one.

Great paint, and love your Ai.

Cheers,

;D BTW Wasn't Baek the name of a character in Tekken series? He was Korean as far as I remember. Nice repaint & comenting!

Cheers :)

Indeed, the character was Baek Doo San. He was named after Baekdu Mountain (known as Baekdu-san in Korean), a mountain on the border between China and North Korea, though the character was South Korean.

Cheers for the replies, all. :)
