YSSY to RJAA section 1

Postby ThomasKaira » Sun Sep 16, 2007 3:45 pm

The latest flight in my "Ring of Fire" tour in my current favorite: the Boeing 767-400 in Delta Airlines colors.

It's a beautiful day today, unfortunately, being way down here makes it rather difficult to return to the US, this flight serves as a sort of "positioning phase" to get the plane in a better position to return stateside, because I don't want to return to Hawaii when my previous flight was just from there. I simply thought: "Why not Japan?"
Qantas, JetStar, and Virgin Blue dominate the airport today, along with one or two Air Pacifics.

Line up! Good thing I'm next. (notice: I am aware of the compression issues on this photo, but I'm at my max filesize and cannot do anything about it)

Who can gues where I am. Right answer gets a cookie, but there is a death penalty to anyone who answers wrong. (notice: I am aware of the compression issues on this photo, but I'm at my max filesize and cannot do anything about it)

Cloudless evening, looking out to a small island off the coast of Papua New Guinea. Paradise on earth, too bad it's a little far away.

Kudos to whoever can guess the inspiration for this shot. ;)

Enjoy.

Very nice...I love it when people post shots of long haul flights 8-) 8-)

PS: The last one would've been nice if the aircraft lights were on ;)

They were on, the game just decided that then was "too early" is all, that isn't my fault.

My guess about the inspiration for shot number 5 is that, since you are heading to RJAA, you are using the "land of the rising sun" as your inspiration.  Yes?  Oh, and when you head into RJAA, beware psychotic ATC.  If you have your traffic turned up, it can be a very busy airport and you may find yourself in CLOSE proximity to other aircraft that have been directed into your path.

But, I digress.  Yes, what is, the land of the rising sun for a thousand, Alex?  Those last two shots were great.  And compression issues aside, I did like the shot with you lined up with the the Qantas airliners.  Great sense of activity.

Cheers,
~Darrin

Inspiration hint: FS2000

Though "Land of the Rising Sun" is not far behind.

And to Xyn_Air: ATC is psychotic in general.
