Kick the tires and light the fires

Postby aussiewannabe » Mon Aug 27, 2007 10:15 pm

From avsim.com. Requires a copy of FSDZigns Lockheed 049a "Constellation". Changed out the panel which didn't have a working NAV button with one I recently downloaded and tried to use on my DC-4. Glad I did because it gives a great view of the engines from the pilots seat on the left. I also changed the sound file to a B17 sound package also from avsim.com.

Nice, but one thing that struck me is that it takes a while to work out where the wheels make contact with the ground - the bottom half of the picture is just a sea of grey - a shadow of the plane would eliminate this problem...

Still a nice shot though and a lovely-looking connie!! :D

Blimey... :o...!

Were the undercarriage legs really that fragile-looking on the Connie...?

Looks like they would collapse under a heavy landing!

Defiantly needs some shadows though, Wannabe...;)...!

Very colourful... 8-)...!

F....Nice legs, otherwise... :-*...!

Why the shadow didn't show up is beyond me. I've seen it where the shadow flickers on and off. I'm pretty sure I've got shadows checked under settings, but I'll recheck it. Prior to taking this shot, I've also redid the contact points so that it doesn't have that flat tire look  :(

Thanks for the comments.

Ah ... the Connie :) How can you not love this bird? Such beautifull curves, such an awesome sound and so easy to fly.
Coming to think of it ... I should get me a girl named Connie ;D
But why did you have to cut part of the wing? Shame on you! Expecially with such a gorgeous aircraft ...

That is an very nice skin for the Connie Aussie but I still prefer KLM! 'Old' forum members would remember and understand ::)
