Love the yellow sky in #1.

The parachute effect looks good in that last one.

Occasionally, my shots slightly come out of focus when I size them down (1280x1024 >>800x640). Mystifies me

Well, the reason for this seems to be sunglare. I went back and reviewed all of my previous shots, and the ones with less/no sunlight in the shot are much clearer. :P

What resolution do you run FS9 at? I'll try taking some shots at a lower resolution and see if that clears the image up.

Excellent tread Jack! Blackbirds are just soo sexy!

Try turning off sunglare and see if it helps ::) These shots were taken with the sun in front of you while the last has the sun on the left 8-)

What resolution do you run FS9 at? I'll try taking some shots at a lower resolution and see if that clears the image up.

That doesn't make sense ... if your taking shots at 1280x1024 and resize it to 800x640, you're compressing 1280 pixels in the space of 800. So if you would do that with 1024 pixels, you'd have a lesser amount of pixels in 800 pixels than if you were using 1280, which would result in a less sharp image.

I know this is not the explanation but at least it makes sense ...

Thanks for the kind words Harold, and Im glad you like this bird because part2 is coming up! 8-) ;)

This is a good explanation, but I checked my sunglare setting and it is turned off; Therefore, it could either be the photo editer Im using (Pixia), or the sun. I'll try the FSW sun and see if it changes anything, because while my shots do come out nice, they do not end up as clear as they started out. :-/ >:(

I checked my sunglare setting and it is turned off

Remember never takes shots that what the sun in front of you unless it is intentional. If you have the sun in an angle it also creates some nice lighting on your subject ;)

Also there are different types of resize in some programs... see if you can try other kinds (at the moment can only recall things like bicubic resize, smart resize, bilinea, pixel resize...)

Love the bird btw, except the afterburner, theres something about it that doesnt feel quite right...

You know, I have sun glare turned off on my PC, but after seeing these shots, I will DEFINITELY turn it on. IMHO it adds a level of reality like I have never seen before. I just plain love it!

Obviously, opinions are like egos.... everybode has one...  ;D  ;D  ;D

Again, I loved the sun glare! Congrats on the shots!

Cheers!

Frank.

Hey Fran, Thanks very much for the compliment, but those shots were with sunglare turned off lol. :)

And I also figured out the image clarity issue. Problem was PIXIA, and the solution was Irfanview. 8-)
