Around The World...The Old Shot Clean Out Part 2

Step climbing out of Colombia.

May 27, 2007...Madrid to Amsterdam.  Not feeling the power on this climb either, 737-800 always seemed underpowered to me.

Not on center but decently smooth landing.

May 28, 2007...Last completed flight.  Amsterdam to London.  A330-200 style.  Surprised KLM uses such a big bird for this flight.

Awaiting clearance for lineup on the Polderbaan.

Rocketing into the wild blue yonder...nice change to the usual heavy loads.

Hello London...making our way into Heathrow.

Down we go.

This is officially the last shots from the old system as well as FS2002 [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif].  Tracking shows my new Core 2 Duo E6850 currently on a truck from Indianapolis to Bourbon.  From there it will arrive on my doorstep sometime around 2 to 3 PM tomorrow afternoon 8-)  Will be firing up the new system for the first time late tomorrow night.  Would start it sooner but must first clear off my desk, if I can find it :-/  and dig out all my stored hardware and the software that goes with it.  By the time I get everything ready to go it will be time for me to leave for an evening out of town.  Once home will begin the long process of programing, installing Vista, disabling a million things I don't need, then start on the external devises.  Then open up the tin and install a brand new copy of FS2004.  Sleep, get up and put my 5+ Gigs of add-on aircraft into their folder, start FS9 for the first time, max out settings, tweak graphics card, tweak small things in CFG, hop into a 747 and enjoy flying in a whole new, smoother then ever world I have so longed for [smiley=beer.gif]

Looked forward to this moment since the first package arrived on June 21st.  The smoothest I have ever flown in FS2002 in an external view was around 10-15 FPS in the air with just below mid settings.  25 FPS in the 777 cockpit.  Now I prepare for a maxed out FS2004 that should be able to lock in at 25 to 30 FPS and never drop even at a fairly busy airport, or in heavy storm clouds, in external view of a Posky 747.  Will finally be able to download some of these great add-on sceneries that before I could only dream of.  Have actual AI joining me on the ground and in the skies without bringing my system to a crawl.  Oh how wonderful it will be :)  Screw sugarplums dancing in my head tonight...its going to be a fully loaded Malaysia 747-400 roaring out of a busy Taipei on its way to LAX (which will not be so busy for awhile as my AI project has only got me through EVA and China Airlines time tables :P ) all in smooth, never before experienced FPS.  And eventually FS Passengers will join me, and then theres a tasty payware Taiwan scenery I MUST have [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]  *Wipes drool off keyboard*

Once tweaked, running, and playing around done, my world tour will begin again.  Look for the first set of misc shots in the next few days 8-)

:D Nice shots... and good luck with the new rig, its fun to upgrade. I wouldn't go for Vista personally but thats your choice... and did you consider FSX? you could try getting a copy of it, checking it out see if it runs smooth... then if it does go and buy it :P

Nice shots.

The 737-800 is underpowered?  In a -700 I climb at 2500 FPM to 10,000 then 2,000FPM to cruise (depending on weight and fuel consumption sometimes slow to 1500 above FL300).  I fly for Southwest VA btw ;)

Thanks :)

FSX would be nice, plan to eventually download the demo again and play around with it, see just how well it does.  With these new specs FS2004 has an extremely high chance that it will be maxed and running smoothly without an issue.  And its cheaper, so would rather spend less on something I know will run.

737-800 does seem a little underpowered compared to its older relatives.  Has the long takeoff run, climbs well but just the takeoff and even landing roll outs seem long.  I'm used to the 500 which in real life and the sim is like a rocket.

This is officially my last post from this old piece of crap.  Desk was located, cleaned, and everything dug out.  The heart of the new computer arrived about 2:15 PM and has been installed.  All wires checked and rechecked...Protective covers removed...Everything is a go for launch...The beast will come to life very soon [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]  So goodbye for now...next time you hear from me it should be in from a different world where everything runs fast and smooth, multitasking (such a surfing the web and trying to listen to music) wont run everything so hard it wants to overheat :-[

I'm outa here...see y'all soon [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]
