Yes my pictures are so big that the quality is very low

That does not make any sense :-? The higher the resolution of your screen, the bigger your images will be and the better the quality when you resize them: squeezing 1600 pixels in to 800 'sharpens' an image instead of creating on like you did ;D

This looks a little bit low-res - kinda pixellated and 'blocky'

That is because he compressed to 10K instead of 100K ::)

My uncompressed images are 5MB BMP's (!!) and still I believe that I get pretty good graphics on the forum ::)

When compressing try to keep your images just under 100kb (102400 bytes).
This way they'll fit the forum rules and have the best possible quality for display on SimV.

The largest I ever have to compress are around 620kb and 1280x1024 pixels. Resized to 800x640, normally a value of 90 on the slider bar will do the trick.

Maybe someone could do a guide on irfanview for this fella with pictures and arrows pointing to buttons etc, I would do it myself but I am at work he is obviously struggling with English and pictures paint a thousand words. To tell you the truth I could do with a refresher course on irfanview myself, if there

The august competition hasn't started yet, and the july contest is over and being judged as we speak I believe, and anyway you registered too late for the july contest. Not sure which contest you were talking about... july or august.

I believe that you'll be okay for the august contest, but it'd be worth checking your registration dates against the contest rules when the august contest is eventually running.

Very good shot mate! Now I see what you can do ;)

However I find the rain too distracting and that little zoom generally causes compression pixelation (or whatever that is called) around the aircraft. Try winching in the plane a little more so you don't have that effect anymore.

Otherwise ... solid shot!
