Serengeti darf nicht sterben

Postby Elwood » Sun Jul 15, 2007 3:58 am

Dornier's Do 27 was the first German production aircraft after the end of WWII.
Primarily intended for the newly formed German Forces, its excellent STOL capabilities made it popular
in several civilian roles.
D-ENTE was used by Michael and Dr. Bernhard Grzimek as a camera platform for the Oscar awarded
documentation movie "Serengeti must not die" and scientifical studies resulting in the founding of
Serengeti National Park. It crashed after a collision with a vulture resulting in jamming the elevator.
Both M. Grzimek and the vulture were killed in this accident.

I concur, especially on #5. Reminds me of a former co-worker who sent me a pic of some lions sitting under the wing shade of a Twin Otter.

I really like the pait job on this AC ;-)
