Is that the default Airbus ? Default planes have weird flight dynamics. Back in FS8 I took the 737 up to 30000ft, than aimed her straight down towards the earth to see how fast she would get. And I could still get her back straight at more than Mach 1. And I DID have overstress crash detection on.

Still, nice flying there!

Microsoft probably use the same set of flight dynamics for all the default planes to save time, and they tweak them just a little bit for each plane.

Top Gun ... 8:08 minutes ;)

Oh, okay.

The "rolleyes" had me a bit confused.

And Ozzmeister, it's just a case of the sillybillies that kicks in everytime I log on the forums. :D

Spitfire Boy, that idea is nuts, they probably do create new flight dynamics for each plane.

Nice flying Bjorn, even when I turn off the onboard computers, I don't have the guts to do that.

I'm not saying that each default plane is exactly the same, but think about it. Microsoft is a company, that wants to save money in areas where big spending is unnecessary - in this case because every new release of flightsim attracts a wealth of new add-ons. So it is feasible that Microsoft might take one set of flight dynamics and tweak it for each plane, rather than creating an entirely new set for each plane. I'm not saying that they definetely do, but it isn't that hard to imagine.

Whatever, point is, the flight dynamics for default planes are far from accurate. I'm sure you'll agree on that one. ;)

Actually Spitfire Boy...have you tried FSX? I haven't flown the 737 myself, but I do have a very good understanding of aerodynamics. I'm certain that the default 737-800 (and 747, CRJ etc. for that matter) comes very close to the real one. At any rate, the flight dynamics are much better than FS2004s. ;)

Sorry, ought to have made that clearer... I was talking about FS2004. I have briefly tried FSX, but it overpowered my system to such an extent that I reverted back to fs9.

I think the A321s dynamics are quite close to real life.

We've had that discussion before in the FSX forum and I posted some airshow videos of various Airbus' getting thrown around. For a commercial jet, the A318 really has jetfighter-like performance.
And the A320 I've been on from EDDV to EGSS performed excellently. Shooting up to FL380 for a less than one-hour flight was very impressive.
