American Russians

Postby Lazerbeak » Sun May 20, 2007 3:47 pm

I was quite pleased to see that Vistaliners updated their 737-500, but was a bit disappointed that nobody'd made any Russian paints for her. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and paint a few of the many 735's that were born in America, but emigrated eastward to begin new lives in Russia.

I started small with Aeroflot-Don, only had to add the logo and a few other details.

S7 Airlines was a bit more difficult, mainly because of the silhouetted people on the side (which had to be partially hand-drawn).

Aeroflot-Nord was probably the hardest of the three. It started off easy, but matching up the stripe to the tail ended up being something of a challenge.

Comments very much appreciated.

Actually, I am currently working on EI-CDH (they belong to Rossiya now, but still use the old Pulkovo livery). I hope to have some screenies soon.

I'm glad you all like the paints, I'm going to see if I can make a few more and then probably upload them all soon after. :)

End October 2006...
Dunno if they are going to repaint again... some planes are just fresh from the paintshop (due to Aeroflot lawsuit about company colors)

Rossiya and Aviaprad have just rolled out of the paintshop. ;D

Transaero and Orenair are next in line. After that, I'll probably upload the whole set for downloading.
