CRJ200 America West Express

Postby bowler_man » Tue May 15, 2007 11:36 pm

Okay, so this is my first post onto this forum. I did a few patterns at Asheville Regl. (KAVL) in Asheville, NC in my America West Express CRJ-200. Sorry the graphics aren't TOO great...

One comment ALL images MUST be uploaded to SIMV.....!!!!

they are nice screenshots, but if you want to improve them i have some hints for you

You can try different times of day, with sunsets, sunrises, bringing different sky colours into it
Turning on your AA to eliminate those jaggies, simple to do and makes a HUUGGEE difference
when you take your screens, if you have it paused, you can turn your FS to maxed out so you get more ground detail, then change it back afterwards to continue flying with better FPS
The only other thing i can think of is to use the recorder module which allows you to get some really interesting angles into it.

Sounds like a lot of stuff to be making it better but you caznt do all of it in every screenshot, experiment with them a bit and with time you will make a remarkable improvment.  These are still reli nice screens!

I believe they are referring to "anti-aliasing". Nice shots, good to see somebody actually using KAVL haha, Im over in KTRI, about 45 mins to the north from AVL, "simulate" a visit sometime :-)

if you cant use recorder in FSX then just dont bother reading that bit...  ::)

AA is indeed anti-aliasing. If you go into settings > disply settings > the furthest right option (at least thats how it is in FS9) you can check the box with AA next to it. Alternatively, what some people do is to turn AA on on the system itself not inside FS.  So you right click on a blank area of your desktop background, settings > "your graphics card" and have a look around through the tabs there until you find "anti-aliasing".

You will see much much smoother lines on everything like your aircraft and everything else.

Will AA hurt my FPS?

And the settings button on FSX doesn't have a display settings tab...

It can hurt many or few FPS depending on your processor and RAM. Set it in the properties of your video card...

4x AA is enough
