I'm into fast modern jets myself, but the serene 4th shot is quite amazing and rivals some modern airliner screen shots to which I show bias because they are modern airliner shots but the 4th one blows them outta the water!

Great shots!! I enjoy looking forward to more shots!

I have one question though, the water settings you have are obviously more than low 2x but if i go above that I can barely get 15 fps. Yet I have more ram, a better graphics card etc. How can you get 25-30?  ::) You never have posted a screen with the fps counter showing as well. I'm not trying to attack you but it really does seem unbelievable when i think about it and a simple screen with the counter showing would stop the criticism all together....

We interrupt this thread to bring you a news bulletin

I think what Black ZR1 is trying to say is he sees people asking how screen shots like that are done and there is either no response or a very generic response that does not tell anyone how. Questions are not being answered but responses to others who do not question how they were created are getting dialogue.

I can understand his frustration and I do not think he would be as upset as he obviously is about it if he was not told a fib about the performance around those shots in the first place.

When that fib was told and he sees others asking the same question and not getting any answer at all, or a strait answer, it concerns him that people will believe something that simply is not true.

The pictures posted are excellent and there should be great recognition for having the talent to line up a shot or think it out. That is part of the art in screenshot taking.

I do think when someone asks how it was done or how a functioning sim can look like that in the shot, an honest and forthright answer should be given. This forum is about sharing, not just showing off.

There is great pride in having the talent to take such shots no matter what settings are being used however there is no shame in telling people how it was done.

Given that no one was getting their questions answered about how the sim in those images could run normally and look that way and given how those shots came with a bit of a fib some time ago, I think the reaction is not unexpected, especially since no one that asks seems to be getting any answers.

That is not fair and although nothing said is not a lie it is still not right to let people assume something that may not be as it appears.

It would be nice if when someone asks, they get an answer and a strait one.

On the other hand, we can not save the world from making a purchase and regretting it. Anyone who buys FSX based on screenshots, not researching the software and the hardware that will be needed in order to make their expectations come to life, is either foolish or very inexperienced.

I can understand someone caring enough to not want youngsters and inexperienced folks to make such mistakes but we can
