B-52 on a Carrier!

Postby DONTREADMYUSERNAME » Fri Apr 13, 2007 9:42 pm

Just for fun i landed on a carrier with a harrier and then changed to a B-52.

But this is the crazy part... with the default gross weight, 2 notches flaps, and full military power the sucker can takeoff from the carrier, and it doesn't even hit anything! Now if i was i better pilot i could probably land the thing too, but all i managed was a couple of over shoots and rolling off the back.

HIGHLY doubt you can land it back on. Though I have (more then once) landed an SR-71 on the deck of the ark royal in CFS1  ;D  Keep trying maby you will be able to get it down one day.

I landed the An-225 on the default carrier outside SF a couple of years back (using ArrCab). The only problem is the wing cuts the island in half ;D

You could land anything on a carrier... with a wind strong enough  ;D  ::)  :o

Anyone up for trying the Space Shuttle? *Nudges Ozzy*

Concorde has been done. Now I don't remember the Space Shuttle being used.... hmm no chance of a go-around. Could be fun. I'd have to start my decent over Mexico probably..... back in a bit 8-)

The wind comment reminded me, I once hovered a B-52  ;D  200kt headwind let me take of and land vertically.

Lol! I've done that in an F-16... Quite fun actually. Never thought to try it with anything bigger (Kirk's F-16's were the only planes I flew back then  ::))
