Now why's it got to be a "white" thing?  ;D

Where is that location?

Where is that location?

It's the Stikine Icefields Research Program, located just north of Wrangell, Alaska. You can download it here: http://www.mistymoorings.com/tongass/index.php

Apologies to Laurence, I told him it was freeware (which it is) BUT, it's designed to work best with the PAYWARE Misty Fjords scenery - although, looking at the pictures posted, it seems to have worked reasonably well.  :)

Cheers,

TSC.

I am just a train fan who happens to like flying and attempting to get the better of the mods especially those with 20/20 vision ;D ;D

I am thinking of purchasing Misty Fjords and Tongass Fjords. Worth the money?

If your considering spending a lot of time flying around south east Alaska (Juneau, Ketchikan etc) then YES!! Misty & Tongass Fjords are excellent - although if your not going to use it much, then it might just turn out to be an expensive fad.

My advice would be to see how you like flying in & out of the Alaska Trophy Tours camps, download a few camps & bases from BFU, maybe try a few BFU type missions/jobs & see how you like it after a couple of weeks - if your still enjoying bush flying a lot, then I'd definately go for the Tongass & Misty packages.

I've never regretted buying them :)

Download & install the Glacier Bay 2 scenery I sent the link for, this is done by the same guy as Tongass & Misty - except it is free & covers the area north of Juneau - this will give you a good idea of what Tongass & Misty Fjords are like.

Cheers,

TSC.

I agree with TSC; Alaska is a lovely place to fly but want to go and buy Tongass or Misty Fjords I think you should explore Alaska and see if you like it. If you like I could point you in the directions of a couple of very nice (freeware) addons ...

Keep checking my tour ::) I'll be posting more shots of Alaska & British Columbia soon ...

For starters there are a couple of links in the postings of my tour (and I'm not trying to bump my posts here ;))

Although it's not spectaculair I think the DEW line scenery is reather nice.

I guess TSC already told you to look out for Holger Sandmann's scenery files, especially the Glacier Bay V2.
I accumulated over 300 scenery files for Alaska only (yes I know ... ) I'll PM you the list when I'm behind my own computer again.
