Recorder at work, eh?

I wish I had the patience to record some mock dogfights with it...

Beautiful plane, beautiful shots. Although not nearly as graceful as the Spitfire, it was certainly deadly at it's job, and exceedingly fast.

It was based on the Fw 190. :P

But Kurt Tank did a better job on the 190 than Hawker did on the Sea Fury. ;P

Far better visibility than the FW-190, and faster too. An all round better plane.

If you want to see 'ugly' planes, go and have a look at my "second battle of britain" threads, and see the horrific aircraft the Germans were about to inflict on the world. It was worth ending the war just to stop these ugly things being built.  :P

I was amazed by the sheer size of the beast when I saw it last summer... I really like Sea Furies!

I was the same way when I saw an Electric Lightning at East Fortune Museum of Flight here in Scotland. I'd always in my mind imagined it as maybe the size of a big car, but it was more like a double decker bus.  :o

Went into service later...copied...so nothing exciting...

Desperate times, desperate aircraft.

But seeing most british designs, I figure the british aircraft industry was desperate from the beginning on. ;D
