Second Battle of Britain, The Allies Strike Back

Postby swordfish1227 » Tue Mar 13, 2007 10:27 am

The Allies strike back with a new arsenal never before seen. The germans are overwhelmed.

The 600+ knot Super Mustang.

The 500 Knot Merlin.

The huge firepower and speed of the new P-38N.

The Jet power of the P-80.

And the night fighting capabilities of the siamese mustang

The allies realised that this was becoming less of a war of giant flights of huge bombers, but a war of small, fast, heavily laden ground attack aircraft.

Nice shots, but I think they are a bit too dark.
You should maybe check your video card settings and add a bit of gamma correction, I guess.

I think by 'Allies' you meant "yankee doodle americans".  ::).. Where's the Meteor ? And the Gloster Pioneer ?  Or what about the Dehavilland Hornet ( first flight 1944)  or the 560 mph  Vampire ?  (1943)  The 590 mph Supermarine Attacker's first flight was early 1946.  And those are just the British planes that were actually built, thats leaving aside the drawing board projects of the day . Then you have the Russians Yak 17's and Yak 23's. Or even the Lavochkin La-11

The point I'm making is, there IS life beyond Hollywood's version of World War 2, you know.  There were other people there apart from G.I. Joe.   ;)

Yeah I remember... There was also a guy named ryan in there! Am I right am I right? They went out on a rescue mission to save him or something like that...

The mission was something like : Saving private ryan.... At least I think it's that.... Could have been shaving ryan's privates though... am not sure  :P

Nice shots could do with some RAF planes though.
