The second Battle of Britain part 2

Postby Boca » Tue Mar 13, 2007 7:03 am

...and we're back over the South Eastern area of England, now, effectivally Nazi airspace..
with the allies frantically trying to make something worthwhile out of the previously ignored work of Frank Whittle and his Meteor and Pioneer, the allies are on the backfoot..
..they're already way behind, the Germans have been working on this Heinkel He 280 v3 for almost 5 years.
Image

..and it's a similiar story with the Ho-229 Horten
Image

The ground attack fighter the Junkers JU-EF 112 proves the Germans are not forgetting their props.
Image

At 472mph , it can outrun most allied aircraft.
Image

The Messerschmitt ME-Wespe isn't slow either..
Image

Although allied intelligence about it's performances are limited.
Image

The Blohm & Voss P.212.03 is a 642 mph High altitude interceptor, and it's kill ratio against the B-17's and Avro Lancasters is frightening.
Image

The Dornier 335 is surely one of the more unusual retro designs in the 1947 Luftwaffe.  But luckily for London, it's 'payware' status meant it was spared attack on this day, May 7th 1947.   ;)

I THINK the Blohm & Voss P.212.03  did...and maybe the Wespe...but I can't be certain...I flew a LOT of planes this morning.  8-)   A couple definately did, that's all I can remember. ( nothing to write home about though ).

Well, that's what I'm waiting on, mate.... An allied reply thread.. Maybe you're just the man to do it... ;)

And one thing I didn't tell Heretic... we sent up a couple of Spits and a couple of Mustangs and shot the lot down.  ;D

i'll work on the reply thread, already have one plane in mind ;D

(goes to find the flying cap and fuel)

I have seen a real DO-335, that thing is HUGE! there is one at the National Air andSpace Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center along with a SR-71, Concorde, and Space Shuttle. There is also a F-35 JSF.
