Piaggo P-149D tour of LaGomera.

Postby Boca » Thu Mar 08, 2007 3:48 pm

Marvellous scenery from Project Canaries ( the whole Canary Islands).  And a marvellous wee plane from this very site.
An interesting point, half of this island is ready to fall into the sea, and if that happens, it will send a GIGANTIC  Tsunami throughout the north Atlantic that will wipe out the entire eastern seaboard of the United States (New York, Washington, Miami,...all gone.) along with the low lying areas of Morocco, Portugal, United Kingdom..Etc... One more eruption from a dormant Volcano here could do it, saw it on Discovery.  :o :'(  ( But don't worry, they say it could be anything up to 1000 years away,,,,, , or next week  :-/)

Typically of the Canary Islands, these wind turbines are everywhere (they're actually also near my house in Scotland too)

Great angle on the shots... Like the scenery... Bit fuzzy in some spots... but good shots none the less

Nice Boca! Now try a few shots in the same area but @ 2000-2500 ft. Then you'll discover the true beauty of the Canaries!

::)It's a little blurry because I only have a XFX 7600 GT card and a lowly AMD 3500+  :'(
The scenery is so complexed ( for Fs9) that it takes ages to load.  They even advice you to defrag your Hard drive immediately after installation to escape the dreaded 'blurries'.

As Harold says, it's actually intended for higher flying.. say 2 or 3,000 feet , and when I do that, they look better, but I didn't want to do that, I wanted a low and slow trip around the island.

The scenery can be found at ...ahem...other major download sites.. look for 3 files..

P.S. I also had my weather set to 20 miles visibility on a sunny afternoon, as I find 50 miles crystal clear visibility to look false and unnatural. ..........so there.  :P
