The biggest platforms you've seen since the 70's..

Postby Boca » Mon Mar 05, 2007 9:06 pm

The NCC platform  http://www.fs2000.org/last/news.asp?id=10905   is a very different airport from your usual stuff. For one, it floats almost 6000 feet up in the air, and as you can see from the F-18 Hornet, it's more than big enough for that..

They told me that the 777-300 had the biggest fans. liars !  :-?
Image
It's even too big for the usual big aircraft, so what is it for ???

AAHHHH  :D

Try a AN-225 on that beast...

High Flight Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared

Absolutely no problem. I think if it can handle a galaxy class starship, it'll have no trouble with your piddling little Russian 'glider'.  8-) ;)

It runs on coal! The runway has that extra thickness so it can accomodate it's 300,000 alien slaves that scoop the coal into the furnaces. They are paid in glue covered peices of yarn which they hope will be strong enough to be able to build their interstellar freedom ship out of.
And for under $1 a day, you can sponser Vlornaxia, this little alien child in need of yarn and a toothbrush. Call now, save an alien race.

uhmm, im guessing not...if you want to land An-225's on it, sure it would be possible to make ones for sea guls or something though ;)
