Tasting new water

Postby Jon H » Fri Mar 02, 2007 7:28 pm

Today I spent quite some time experimenting with a number of freeware water packages for FS2004, having put up with default until now. Eventually I've come up with a combination I'm pleased with:

Main water textures (0*b2wa.bmp): Perfect water - Davide Scotti
Inland water textures (0*b2wa.bmp): Inland Water - Adan Arif
Reflections effects (env_*.bmp and OceanHeightField.bmp): Xtra water - FullThrottleSims/Hector Davila
Water details (water_detail*.bmp and water_detailR*.bmp): Aquarama - Adan Arif
River and shoreline textures (rivers.bmp, shore.bmp etc): Perfect water - Davide Scotti

To prevent the notorious zig-zag lines on the distant water I changed a line in the FS9.cfg:
Code: Select all
MAX_UNLIMITED_VIS=70000

And here are the results. Tell me what you think.

I'm staggered you tolerated default 2004 water for as long. Thats what I think.  :o

No - that's the whole point. It's a combination of various freeware addons.
