I'm not so sure about this...opinions please..

I installed the freeware Perfect Sky 1.0 for FS2004 - by Davide Scotti   and to test it out, I decided on a dawn take off from Edinburgh in the 737 experience ( although the plane is irrelevant, it's the sky I'm looking to have judged),, it's very vibrant, and compression has DESTROYED these shots. But do you think it's too vibrant ?  And would you turn off the very prominant lenseflare (even though I think it looks nice, is it realistic )..?
P.S. These aren't touched up in any way. (its Fs9)

I like the composition of the shots. but yeah, compression killed those shots.

No wonder compression killed them... they are between 20-30 kb each when the limit is 100kb each... What program do you use to resize?

Shot 3 is really impressive!

I use Irfanview to take the shots..then open them with paint and 'Stretch them to 78% by 78%  which gets them down to 799 X 600. I have Irfanview set to 90 %  (low to best)..  :-/

Try fsscreen: http://www.simradar.com/File/2791/FSScr ... n_1_1.html

Take shots with that program and open the files with irfanview. Resize them to 800X.... and then play with the quality to get them as close to 100 kb each 95% quality isn't unrealistic in these kind of shots. Also It'll Eliminate the paint factor..

Try it and see if it helps!

Of the many sky add-ons I've tested, I liked Real Environment Pro the best.

So have a search for that one and try it.

Does this program (Perfect Sky 1.0) need much resources? Because my specs aren't that good (see below in sig), what d'you think?

I think the pics aren't that bad...

It doesn't alter your game one little bit, apart from how it looks. When you install it, it doesn't even have to load extra textures or anything like that, all it's doing is replacing default textures.
You won't see a collossal difference during the mid day sun, but at dawn and dusk, it's a completely new experience.  More summer evening flights for me, I reckon.  ;)
A recommendation...install it manually, because there's a spelling mistake in the automatic install path. I created a New Folder on my desktop and installed it into that, then manually copied the files over.  :)

I looked it up. I got a lot of screenshots (make me drool...) but I havent found an actual download. I got a movie that cost me 26 MB, but no actaul files. If you can find the link, then it would be apreciated.

I can't provide a link.
The admin will kill me if I mention other FS sites...

C'mon...it can't be that hard to find, can it?

I like the colours, I don't like the clouds' shape, I don't like the lens flare.

Why use Irfanview to take the shot, then stretch them in Paint - Just use Irfanview to re-size them for you to 800 wide (Ctrl + R), then save them using Irfanview.

:)
