..at least that's what us British tell ourselves when the Ark Royal pulls up next to the Nimitz.  ;D

I maybe wrong, but I think this is the biggest freeware addon available for flightsim2004. I know it's not reality *yet*, but I had to have it. Flying low along the road at Mach2 is quite an experience, let me tell you. Weaving in and out of the traffic.  8-)

The problem I see about this kind of bridge in Real Life, is the very same problem we're having in Italy about the berlusconi induced idiocy of the Messina Strait Bridge. Too much money to pay for something which necessity is doubtful at best. It'd be only a modern day pyramids-inspired building to stroke a man's ego and make him (or so much as few men) famous worldwide. ;D

At the end of the day though, how many years does he have left..10 ?  20 ? ...but the bridge will stand long after he's gone. Get his pockets dipped, the old bugger can afford it.  :D

Wrong ship...the one you refer to is this one  http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9A0DE0DB1130F93AA3575BC0A960948260

However, the one in my pictures are of the later Ark Royal, this one which saw service in the Falklands.

Now there is a third one.

Not sure what's wrong with your links. There have actually been 5 RN ships named Ark Royal. RO9 was scrapped in 1980, two years before the Falklands & therefore took no part in it. The Falklands carriers were Hermes & Invincible.

This is the one in your shots. HMS Ark Royal

I've been mis-informed.  ;D

You really shouldn't question me on these matters. ;)

Would the Ark Royal that was sunk by U81 be the same Ark Royal that was flagship of the Royal Navy against the Armada? ;D

The next "Ark" will probably be a coastal patrol boat, if the forthcoming President Brown finally closes the armed forces down... ;)
