Why would that ruin a good landing?  Its off to the side....

Maybe because it crashed his plane?  ;D That hurts.... I did a 7 hour flight and did something like that, I didnt wreck the plane but nearly!!!! Gear fell off I think!

Well, maybe I deliberately veered off to the left  because I noticed the poorly placed fence and cunningly devised a 'Insurance' job on the airport.
Did you never think of that ?  ;)

You did well. Now they'll HAVE to fix the damn thing, with the FAA nosing around and everything. Good job!  ;D

In FLU in New York City, when your coming  in on approach, there is a tree at the very beginning of the runway. Here is what its like to land

"Ok gear down, flaps down, coming in"

"Ok here i go, coming in at 70 knots, all i gotta do is flair, avoid the tree, and im in"

You literally have to veer to one side to avoid this thing.

maybe thats why FLU closed  :-/

I remember that airport from my second world tour. Came down with... I seem to remember a A319, executed balked landing clearing the obstruction by mere millimeters, paused the game to look at the mess, could not believe my eyes, got mortally pissed, retried the approach and landed successfully and unchallenged on a taxiway. ;D

Then took out AFCAD and moved the runway on the side and clear of the VOR. A little too late. Ever since then, I always go giving a eye to the destination airport before taking off. ::)

There's but one real cure for human stupidity. It's called DEATH.
