even millionaires get sea sick

Postby gilly_is_alive » Mon Jan 29, 2007 2:58 pm

Gust catches the default learjet 45 on final.  This shot was disqalified from thefebruary screenshot contest but i would like feedback anyway.  I had to crop down a bit and cut off the sides as it was taken from a widescreen moniter.

I think it would look better without the rain, or with the rain & clouds, but other than that pretty good :D

I have to say also that the rain spoils it for me, it takes the attention away :)

I LOVE the way the mountains are standing out darkly against the sunset.  That looks AWESOME :o!  Great job 8-).

I love the way you finally ( like I was forced to do) , had to learn how to post screenshots on here.  ;D
I had my first deleted too. Although some people will say I should STILL be having mines deleted.  :D

thanks for the responces guys, yeh it did take me a while to get an image posted.  I still think it wouldnt qualify for the competition cos its been cropped.  The rain does look a bit odd without the clouds. i think the mountains are the best part of this shot

AA is 4x on video card, there are no jagged edges on the original.  must be due to resizing or cropping

I liked the contrast of the rain to the sun.  I bet there's a rainbow someplace nearby.

Resizing with some programs such as Paint Shop Pro can cause jaggies even if the original image is smooth as silk.

My suggestions are:
Get rid of the rain.
And use Irfanview to resize.

Other than that... Exellent shot!

I agree about the Rain. Distracts the eye from the shot a bit too much.

Excellent sunset though, loving the mountains in the back.

Also, I thought the limit was 800x600? That's showing 800x639 on my screen  :o
