Hanz got bored...

Postby Omag 2.0 » Wed Jan 17, 2007 3:35 pm

Stormtropper's Silent Hunter III shots made me want to give it a try again, dispite earlier trouble...

So i took out a small Unterseeboot into the Atlantic...

Enjoying the nice weather... cruising around... not much to do...

Image

Forgot about crew-management, so the Hanz the torpedo-guy got bored and painted the control room...

Germans...  ::)  ;D  ;D  ;D

(Sorry Mr. Mugel, Heretic and the others...)

Seems my little card still can't managed it...

I need a better system...

Soon...

Cheers,

Grab a crayon and start paint your panels  ;D.

SH IV will be about the Americans versus the Japanese... somehow these boats don't have the same ring to them as the German ones... during WWII that is... during the cold war is a whole different thing though... reminds me I have Janes hunter/killer ( Los Angeles class Nuclear submarine simulator) around somewhere too... talk about old games...

PS: Is it just me, or is that Data I see in that screenshot?

Is Silent Hunter III the one that can be played along side Destroyer command?

Having seen Stormtroppers screenshots I'm very tempted to buy the game... Have to see how much it's selling for...

...damn! I wish my sub had that much color too it...it'd make being cramped in a tiny little room with 50 other seamen alot more bareble... ::)

...I don't know exactly what you mean by "played along side Destroyer command" Woody...you can only control submarines in this game, but you can easily sail alongside other warships...

...Enigma: The Rising Tide is the other naval sim where you can control destroyers, PT boats, frigits, etc.

By the way, unless you have gotten over your patriotism and now find it ok to shoot at the Royal Navy, this game ain't for you Woody ;D

It was Silent Hunter II that was compatable with a seperate game called Destroyer Command. Made for quite interesting multiplayer or so I heard. Seems Destroyer Command never caught on like Silent Hunter though and a new version hasn't been made to go with SHIII.

Yep, SH2 and DC ran together on MP... But it was a bit boring for both, if the sub got up, periscope out, you could shoot it, and if not, it could not sink the destroyer...

SH3 is a different world, by far better, the gameplay and the graphics !

P.S. Going off to paint my boat now !  ;D
