Hostile Waters...

Postby Stormtropper » Mon Jan 15, 2007 10:23 pm

...I posted that pic from Silent Hunter 3 yesterday, some of you seem intreasted...

...so heres a few more... ;)

Looks mean, eh?

Just crusing...

Close call*... :o

"Torpedo Impact!"

"Turning bombers and the RN into Swiss cheese since 1939"
Image

I don't think I'm suppose to do this...impact turned the little bugger on its back, and I just left him there...
Image

I was just crusing along, until my watch officer said something about a "convoy"...she went down before she got a shot off, but took 5 torpedos though**...
Image

...and the Captain's log after I returned from that patrol, not too shabby eh?
Image

Jeff ;D

* I tried the "Crash dive" thing once before....in shallow water...needless to say, it didn't end well...for me atleast...

** Took 4 torpedos then started listing...fired a 5th because I had 4 destroyers on my six and really didn't have time to stick around to watch that thing sink in slow-mo...intreasting game phsics tho, after the 5th torpedo impact, she completely capsized and ended up completely balanced on the pointy end of the mast (With the keel still above water...) for a good 5 minutes... ;D

...mmhmm...

...its alittle limiting though, because you can only be at "stations" (in the next game, you can freely move around), but you can be at the control room, bridge, periscope, captain's quarters/radio/sonar room...and of course manually control the good ol' 88 and flak... ;)

I can't help but really wonder if that incredible water has the same drag-down effect on the fps and fluidity the water of FSX has, and if not WHY FSX's water is that heavy on framerates then. ::)

If they say that, man your guns, and get them down, but be sure to check the weather before, as with wind speeds above 7m/s you cannot man the guns, and THAN, you should dive fast !

17000 tons for today, AL27....
