The only "cheating" I did was to save the flight after a couple of hours, shut down the computer and come back to it the next day. Admittedly it's not exactly realistic, but I just couldn't hack 5 hours of solid flying at a time.

And I agree that real world weather is the only way to go.


I'll be the first one to admit that I'll save a flight to continue it later on. RL always likes to throw unplanned things at you. You just have to improvise and adapt to deal with it...

I'm curious:

Are the flight times over great distances (Atlantic/Pacific crossings) shorter/longer depending on which direction you are flying?  I know that flying east across the Atlantic is longer than flying west, but is that becuase of the routes used (meaning differences in latitudes) or the actual rotation of the earth?

I'm confused. :-X

I flew around the world as well, from Oct 1st to December 1st I went around the world twice in my B757-200  :D
