FSX? I like it.

WOW, you have a computer like that and are getting nasty framerates with ANYTHING?? I mean, I've heard that you needed a super-computer to run FSX, but STILL! That's INSANE! I use FS9 and I get near perfect framerates with my PC.

Awesome shots! I love autogen too, but I also love smooth play. And VOZ. And FE/GE.
So I'm with FS9 for at least another year.....

Here are some advises: you said that you installed the reduced autogen textures, but have you tried those reduced autogen varitety (not density!) ?
I'm talking about the alternative default.xml and AutogenDescription.spb. I had a big FPS difference with those.

Also, I think you already set up all the tweaks for the FSX.cfg ?
I can play with autogen density maxed out over a city at 20 FPS (as long as there are not too much specific scenery buildings on the screen) on my old 6800 GT.

Got my own modified default.xml and replaced the .spb file. Makes a bit of a difference, but nothing jaw-dropping.


As I said, switching Anisotropic Filtering off in FSX and shifting that task to my GFX card instead did get me a notable performance boost.
