Just some Alitalia

Postby Steve_Butka » Wed Dec 13, 2006 7:08 am

I will be flying to Rome this Saturday out of JFK on American in a 777  ;D and the flight will be stopping over in Heathrow for a few hours.  This is the plane I'll be hopping on to get to Rome.  Just thought I'd make the trip and snap a few screenies in the process...nothing special.  enjoy :)

Always beautiful the Alitalia livery. Even if the planes on which it gave the best IMO were the now decommissioned 747. 8-)

Thanks to the haze, #4 is something special.
The late George Harrison once defined Alitalia "the only flight company with hair under the wings". I never was too sure what he meant. Python humour.  :D

I don't get it. I mean, it's only natural to have air under the wings while in flight. :-?

...ah... hair... well, you see, there's an easy explanation. It helps reducing drag while at the same time optimizing lift for every part of the flight envelope. It's something the other airlines should consider doing too. 8-)

...unless he mistook the flaps for hair, that is... :-X

That's cool bro, I have a friend (an american girl) that's been travelling to Italy for a good 3 years solid now for 4-6 month stints and she decided she wanted to live there permanently and try and find work.  She's a smart one, so I'm sure she'll be fine.  She's interviewing for a job as a tour guide and I just helped her get some info for a presentation on Caravaggio.

maybe I'll bump into you in the streets of rome sometime!

to everyone else: thanks for the comments guys :)
